Carson-Newman offers several programs designed to lead to professional licensure or certification in the state of Tennessee. Licensure and certification requirements vary from state to state; 因此, it is imperative for students to be aware of licensing and professional requirements for the state in which they wish to reside and practice. In addition to obtaining a degree from an approved program, most states have additional requirements for licensure, 因此, graduating from 一个程序 designed to lead to licensure, 不, 本身, qualify a person to be a licensed or certified as a practitioner in most states.

Students must also be aware that state laws, 规定, and requirements for licensure and certification are subject to change. Carson-Newman strongly recommends that prospective and currently enrolled students who plan to seek licensure/certification outside of the state of Tennessee contact the appropriate licensing agency for information and guidance 之前 enrolling in 一个程序 which leads to licensure. It is also imperative that students be aware of licensing requirementswhen they relocate to a state outside the state of Tennessee 后开始 一个程序. Students should discuss licensing requirements with their adviser 之前 enrolling in 一个程序 that leads to licensure, or when relocating to a state outside of Tennessee. 

Professional Licensure 披露的信息 by Program and State

美国.S. Department of Education Rule CFR§668.43 (a)(2)(5)(v) requires institutions to make public to prospective and enrolled students whether a completion of 一个程序 designed to lead to licensure will fulfill requirements for a specific licensure or certification required to be a practitioner in each state.  

Professional Licensing agencies in each state determine requirements and criteria for individual licensure. The university has made a reasonable effort to determine if C-N academic programs designed to lead to licensure in the state of Tennessee meet licensure requirements in other states. The disclosures listed on tables linked below indicate whether the program:

  • Meets the licensure requirements in that state
  • Does not meet licensure requirements in that state or
  • A determination has not been made whether the program meets licensure requirements in that state
